What does “take this offline” mean in a meeting?
“The phrase has left the meeting. Has the decision?” — Arthur
Original
“Let’s take this offline.”
Plain English
“Mina and I will discuss the delivery problem after this meeting and update everyone by 3 pm.”
What the wording leaves out
It usually means discussing the matter separately. That can keep a meeting focused, but the issue can vanish if nobody owns the follow-up.
What to check
Ask who will speak, what they will decide and when the answer will come back.
