Arthur’s jargon buster
What does “Scalable” mean?
Able to handle growth.
“Can it grow? Lovely. By how much?” — Arthur
In context
A scalable system can cope with more customers or work without falling over or becoming too expensive. It does not mean unlimited growth.
A clearer version
“The booking system can handle 500 appointments a day.”
Where it gets vague
Say how much growth you expect and what the system can handle.
